1kg strong white flour
900ml butter Milk
100g butter
50g baking powder
32g sugar
18g salt

Preparation time: 40 minutes including cooking time
Makes: One loaf

  1. Preheat oven to 230°c
  2. Rub all dry ingredients together with the butter until all ingredients are full blended together.
  3. May a bay on the table
  4. Pour buttermilk into the centre and slowly incorporate all dry ingredients into the liquid.
  5. Develop farl dough into correct condition by hand.
  6. Scale off dough into 300g units and mould round
  7. Pin out dough to correct diameter and place on baking tray
  8. Bake at 230°c for about 20 minutes.
  9. Leave to rest.
