French Toast

French Toast


  • 2 thick slices bread (preferably a few days old!)
  • 1 large egg
  • Butter
  • Maple Syrup
  • Icing Sugar


  • Vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon
  • Orange zest
  • Fresh fruit, banana, blueberries, strawberries


Whisk the egg in a bowl and dunk the bread slices in the egg.

Heat a knob of butter in a pan, gently place the egged bread in the butter and fry off until toasted and golden brown.
To serve, drizzle with maple syrup and a dusting of icing sugar.

For a tasty alternative try adding one of the following into the whisked egg, either orange zest, vanilla extract or a little cinnamon and serve with fresh fruit.
