Tiptree World Bread Awards are proud to support The Passage.
The Passage provides accommodation, community and support services for those at risk of becoming street homeless, those who are street homeless and those who are victims of modern slavery. Our vision is of a society where street homelessness no longer exists and where everyone has a place to call home.
We aim to end street homelessness by providing innovative and tailor-made services that act with both compassion and urgency, and to prevent rough sleeping by intervening quickly before people reach crisis point. Crucially, we also work to advocate for those who feel they are not heard by amplifying their voices to bring about real systemic change.
The Passage’s Community Service offering conducts in-reach and outreach services to enhance our reach and support to people across Westminster and beyond.
Our Prevention and Partnerships team work closely with partner agencies to deliver advice and create resettlement plans within a community outreach environment. Through our No Night Out service they make rapid interventions for those who are sleeping rough and provide a safe environment for our clients – responding to their needs whilst exploring ways to resolve their housing situation. They also arrange regular follow ups to ensure tenancies are sustained and people feel fully supported.
Within our Resource Centre we offer hot breakfast and lunch, laundry facilities and clothing; as well as running basic cooking classes, shopping-on-a-budget workshops and sharing advice around healthy eating.
Our Health and Wellbeing team coordinate direct support for people with multiple needs and help them to successfully access and navigate the complexity of health and treatment structures.
Our integrated Advice and Advocacy service helps us to develop partnerships, practice, and policy to support those with benefit and immigration issues and survivors of modern slavery and trafficking.
To end homelessness for good, we believe that careers, not just jobs, are the best way for someone to sustain their new home. We therefore focus on skills development and career opportunities to support the people we work with to achieve their ambitions.
